Harlem is more than the setting for this collection—it is the home that shaped James Koroma’s imagination and began his journey as a perfumer.

As Harlem’s first native perfumer, James felt a responsibility to create fragrances that speak to the neighborhood’s vibrance, cultural achievement, and rich historical significance. The Harlem Capsule is his love letter to the people, places, ambition, artistry, and enduring spirit that make Harlem unlike anywhere else.

Sugar Hill and Strivers’ Row are the first two expressions of that tribute. Sugar Hill captures radiance, legacy, and cultural brilliance; Strivers’ Row embodies ambition, refinement, and quiet power. Together, they translate the energy and history of Harlem into scent—made not simply to recall a place, but to carry its presence forward.
